Rescued pets become loving family members

The recent Pet Rescue Fundraiser was a great night and hopefully a good night for raising funds for two local pet rescue groups.

Kathi Newell-Nicholson has devoted many years to the saving of both cats and dogs.  She has invested many hours of blood, sweat and tears to rescue animals, many on death row.  This does not include the many dollars spent and the emotional strain Kathi has to go through to provide vet care and find suitable homes for these abandoned creatures.  I have purchased several cats and dogs from 'Adopt a Pet'.  Every one, with some time to adapt, became loving family pets.

Donna Coughlan's 'Allies for Alley Cats' is a similar rescue for cats only.  Many cats/kittens she tried to rescue did not make it.  Donna and her husband have spent countless hours bottle feeding newly born kittens.  All of this in her house and garage.  I have also adopted a cat from Donna.

Both these ladies deserve a lot of credit for what they have done, as do the many volunteers and foster families.

Love is the one thing that the more you give away, the more you get.  This is never more so than with a rescued pet.

A sticker on Donna's vehicle has a paw print that reads, "Who rescued Who?"  How true!!
